Sinomer® 4-HBA is a high-crosslinking, monofunctional acrylate monomer. It contains both a double bond and a hydroxyl group within a long acrylic chain, giving it dual functionality. This monomer is characterized by its fast cure speed, low odor, low skin irritation, and excellent weatherability. Its homopolymer has a very low glass transition temperature (Tg) of -65°C, which imparts exceptional flexibility, scratch resistance, and acid rain resistance to cured coatings and films. It is also water-soluble, making it suitable for waterborne UV systems.
