Typical formulation (starting point):
Component | Parts by weight |
Epoxy resin (EEW ~190, e.g., Bisphenol A type) | 100 |
SINOMER® PM840 PA | 80 – 120 |
The recommended mix ratio should be optimized based on the specific epoxy resin grade, desired gel time, and final performance requirements. For most standard Bisphenol A epoxy resins, a 1:1 ratio (epoxy : hardener) by weight is a good starting point.
Gel time at 25°C is typically 58 minutes depending on the epoxy resin used.
Based on testing with standard Bisphenol A epoxy resin (EEW ~190) at a 1:1 mix ratio:
Condition | Gel Time | Lap Shear Strength (24h) |
25°C, 70% RH | ~2-8 min | ≥ 18 MPa |
-5°C | ~20-30 min | ≥ 10 MPa |
Notes:
Performance may vary depending on epoxy resin type, formulation, and test condit
Mixing: Stir the resin and hardener thoroughly until homogeneous. Use mechanical mixing for best results.
Pot life: Short pot life (5‑10 minutes at 25°C). Plan application accordingly.
Application: Apply within the pot life. For thin film applications, ensure even coating.
Cure: Allow to cure at ambient temperature. Low temperatures will prolong curing time.
