Molecular Structure:

Synocat® DMP (N,N-Dimethylpiperazine) is a distinguished balanced catalyst widely recognized in the polyurethane industry for its unique ability to harmonize competing reactions. It appears as a colorless to slightly yellow transparent liquid with characteristic amine odor.
Excellent Balance Between Blowing and Gelling Reactions: Synocat® DMP provides optimal coordination between the blowing reaction (water-isocyanate → CO₂) and the gelling reaction (polyol-isocyanate → polymer network). Unlike strongly blowing-biased catalysts or fast-gelling catalysts, it maintains a "middle-path" kinetics that allows foam expansion while simultaneously strengthening the polymer matrix.
Superior Flowability: This balanced reactivity imparts excellent mold-filling capability (flowability) , particularly valuable in complex mold geometries and high-density applications.
Enhanced Back-End Cure for Flexible Foams: Synocat® DMP significantly promotes surface curing in flexible foams, especially polyester-based systems. It accelerates demold times, reduces surface tackiness, and ensures rapid development of final hardness and physical properties—critical for foam breathability and resilience.
