Sinomer® DCPEMA is a low-viscosity diluent monomer that can be used in UV curing systems; The bicyclic structure of DCPD exhibits hydrophobic characteristics due to its rigid, non-polar hydrocarbon framework. The low polarity of the cyclic aliphatic system significantly reduces hydrogen bonding interactions with water molecules, thereby decreasing the material’s inherent hydrophilicity. This structural feature makes DCPD-based systems inherently resistant to water absorption.
