Features: :
  • Chemical Stability: Barium glass powder exhibits excellent chemical stability, resisting erosion from various chemical substances, with acid/alkali resistance and chemical inertness.

  • Particle Size: Small particle size, typically between 1~13 μm, ensuring good dispersibility.

  • Physical Properties: The primary form is white powder with whiteness reaching 95~97. Specific gravity ≈2.65. Hardness: Mohs scale 7.

  • Heat Resistance: Boron-barium glass powder is produced via special high-temperature synthesis, with a higher melting point than ordinary glass powder, ensuring superior stability in high-temperature environments.

  • High Refractive Index: Its high refractive index enables applications in optics, such as manufacturing high-refractive-index lenses, optical fibers, and optical windows.

  • High Density & Radiation Resistance: Containing heavy metal elements Ba, Sr, Zr, it possesses high density and radiation resistance, making it suitable for electronics, laser technology, and nuclear science.

Application :
  • Dental Materials

In dentistry, barium glass powder is used to manufacture specialty glass materials and components, including dental composite fillers, CAD/CAM blocks, grinding blocks, 3D printing applications, glass ionomer cements, glass-ceramics, and composite resin materials (specifically light-cure composites and flowable composite restorative materials).

            (1) Dental Restorative Materials:

Critical for enamel restoration, dental aesthetics, and oral restorations. It repairs damaged enamel, provides whitening/masking effects, and enhances composite resins/ceramic restorations by improving strength, wear resistance, and aesthetics.

            (2) X-ray Opaque Materials:

Heavy elements (Ba, Sr, Zr) ensure X-ray opacity, essential for dental restorations requiring imaging. This allows clear visualization of teeth and restorations during X-rays, aiding diagnosis, treatment assessment, and oral health monitoring.
