Glycerol tribenzoate is white crystalline powder or granular solid. It can be sued as a plasticizer in nail polish, in inks, adhesives, surface coatings for metals and pigments, processing aids for extrusion and injection molding, cleaning materials for hot melt roll coaters, and can be used in food packaging.
Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, easily soluble in certain organic solvents such as ether, ethyl acetate, benzene, chloroform, etc.
