1. Introduction

In the high-tech fields of pharmaceuticals and electronics, the issue of metal ion residues in final products is garnering increasing concern. The removal of heavy metals, purification of electronic-grade reagents, and recovery of precious metals from solutions are critical challenges faced by many enterprises.

2. Mechanism of Action & Metal Removal Scope

Our functionalized silica gels work by selectively chelating metal ions. The functional groups on the silica surface form stable complexes with specific metals.


After adsorption at room temperature or with heating, the pure compound is obtained simply by filtration and washing, leaving the metal ions bound to the scavenger.

5. Performance Data


5.1 Laboratory Test: Metal Ion Solution


Test: A self-prepared metal ion solution was treated with 2% of both SPA-MetSil and an imported brand (SiliaMets™) silica gel, stirred for 3 hours at room temperature, and filtered.

Conclusion: The metal ion concentration in the solution was measured after treatment. The data demonstrates that SPA-MetSil's overall metal adsorption performance is comparable to, or better than, the imported product.


5.2 Application Test: Pharmaceutical Intermediate


Test: A pharmaceutical intermediate was dissolved in dichloromethane and treated with 10% SPA-MetSil silica gel by stirring for 3 hours at room temperature. The mother liquor was concentrated and analyzed after filtration.

Conclusion: The test showed a significant reduction in key metal impurities (Na, Mg, Ca, Fe), from tens of thousands of ppb levels down to tens or hundreds of ppb levels.


5.3 Application Test: Mixed Liquid Crystals (Mixed Crystals)


Test: 20g of mixed crystals were taken. 1% of imported SiliaMets modified silica gel and 1% of SPA-MetSil modified silica gel were added respectively. After stirring for 2 hours and allowing to stand, the product was taken to test changes in ions. The test items were: resistivity, ion concentration, VHR.
